Very true. I thought my "Lion King" broadway show review will attract lots of poster. Unfortunately, it was the only post for more than a year (and then got purged due to lack of replies). I decided not to open any more threads after that. :(

No wars. But when I am seriously thinking of r2i, my MIL wants to visit Niagara falls before we come to India for good. I am not sure if I need to change my r2i plans for this. LOL. :)

MIL or no MIL in town, I am the king (thank goodness my wife doesn't read this forum:). I can say all this).

The following is the menu when my MIL is around:
I'm usually greeted to the smell of Idli/Vada/sambar in the morning followed by a hot cup of Horlicks. Lunch is usually a quick affair consisting of my favorite sambar, Okra roast, nice rasam (with fresh ghee floating on top) and some curd rice with homemade mango pickle.
Dinner is usually chappatis with my fav. aloo/tomato subji and some lassi to cool down my system and help the process for the morning call.

All these menus are served on a big steel platter and with a lot of "Please have some more...you've had a long tired day's work...(and i think..yeah..browing R2IClub..sure).

The following is when none of them are around:
I get to munch on those hard tasteless dry cereals soaked in milk until they are forcefully pushed inside my tummy. My wife usually prepares lemon rice or Coconut rice for work which looks like its already been eaten by the time i open it in the afternoon. For dinner, since we need to feed the kids and finish up our chores, there's some dhaal, chapatis and some palya/poriyal/subjis which are gobbled up in high speed as the kids are screaming in one end of the room.


Now, tell me why i feel like a king when my In-laws are around and also why i don't EVER EVER argue or fight with my in-laws!

Nope. See, I will take the heat for this statement bcoz. my siblings read all the crap I write here (thanks to KirKS). Not my wife.

When we were courting, my spouse never liked my sibling and always avoided interacting and never warmed up till all the elders were gone and now the relationship is atleast on friendly terms. I think men start to mellow in their late 30s and start seeing the value of familial relationship later than women, that's why they avoid talking : ). Maslow's hierarchy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs especially applies to men's mentality than women IMO.
