I'm curious to find out how many wished they had remained single and why.

I for one wish I had stayed single. After marriage I lost all the enthu, ambition, freedom in life, and have to deal with BS every now and then.

Before you are married, you live for yourself.

After you are married, you live for others.

Enough said.

I wish I got such an enlightenment prior to marriage.. and then got married..

May be those guys who are in bliss with their married life can enlighten the poor souls with their insights....

I never repent for a single day. The only time I used to get upset while drinking beer. My wife does not like beer and I do not like wine all the time...:emsad:
After working on that front for some years, situation is now much better... she has accepted my occational beer drinking...

If you develop some hobbies which you both enjoy (e.g. photography, watching movie, exercise, enjoying nature, counting currency notes (some do enjoy that too) etc) and most importantly try to learn "listening". Many times women speak only to express their views and frustration or simply talk. That time they do not want any suggestion or advice (the most dengerous part for men). Just listem (at least pretend to listen), do not say anything judgemental that time. Men and women brain have different software and work on different logic. Faster you accept and understand that, better your system will run, happier you will be. In short, give space to each other.
You both will start liking your lives. Then you may go somewhere and that will be better than going_nowhere....:)

I guess the road traveled after marriage would be much more pleasant if the destination is the same for both parties concerned. I never imagined that I would fall into this category of complaining about "life after marriage" but then, the oddities of life does make a difference. Whether it be with differing tastes, preferences or simply the way of life one is accustomed to or wishes upon which the other person does not see eye to eye. And after a certain point in time, you see yourself drifting apart together.

Confusing, isn't it? I'm trying to make some sense of all of it myself, but haven't succeeded in doing so ;-) I hope someone else can!

You must have similar basic/core values to establish any relationship. Everything else can be put together (by some training and practice). If the basic values do not match, it's better to seperate. You simply can not teach Mukesh Ambani the value of honesty, neither you can teach Swami Agnibesh the value of cheating people.

I don't know why only men complain.. Isn't it the same for women folks too except the enthu part? I feel everybody's life changes after marriage but men make it melodramatic and women just accept it and keep the enthu alive for the sake of the family.

I have a gal pal who never married and now in her late 30's is as miserable as one could be as her parents are no more and all her peers busy with their lives. Bindas living also has shelf life, think about it and then the current living looks lot better.

Women are free to complain and they do. I don't think it is a male trait alone.

Genetic build up man and women don't seem to match at all for a life together. Anybody who has read "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" can easily associate with this mismatch. Even in making love, women's apetetite is different than men. Marriage is getting to be a big question.

I guess women like to have security, men would rather choose freedom.
And women worry about their biological clock ticking and are keen to rope in any man once they get desperate. Also society accepts an unmarried male more than an unmarried female, though times are changing now.
