I relocated from USA to Chennai and I am searching for IT jobs in Chennai for the past 2 months without any success. Attended 4 rounds of interview with CSC but unfortunately that position is put on hold, so I am back to square one. If anyone has any contacts in Chennai please send it to me, I am finding it difficult to get an interview without any referral.

My background: Total IT experience 15 years. 13 years in US Healthcare domain.
My Education: B.E Computer Science, MBA USA (part-time)

My advice to people who are relocating, don?t resign your current job before you find a job in India, I made that mistake and I am regretting it.

I applied through their website, got some calls from their talent acquisition group, they said you will get a call shortly from the business unit and after that no response. My experience is most of the IT companies use recruitment firms (I am assuming that they might get some kickback) so they don't bother about the applications they get when you apply directly. If you are starting your job search don't register in the company website, it is better to go through recruitment firms, if you register then the recruitment firms will just say they already have your profile.

With 15+ years of experience, the number of positions that are open is very small. Even in this so called booming Indian IT conditions, the number of senior positions that come up are very small. Referrals is the best way to go. Cognizant has a big health care practice in Chennai. My experience on Cognizant, it is a sweatshop. Do you have any contacts at RBS. They are opening up a captive center in Chennai and are hiring crazily.
