Hello Everyone!
I am a construction project manager working in US for past 8 years. I have done a masters in Construction management from US. I am an architect undergrad. Also, I have worked in India for 1 year.
I have decided to return to India (always wanted to)..Not waiting for GC, plus the construction industry is down here in US.
I know Indian construction industry is booming. But I am facing the following issues in job search.
Even though I have uploaded my resume in jobsites, I am not getting any calls or emails. I tried contacting some recruiters too. Not great response.
What is the best way to land jobs in construction industry in India. Can someone give me pointers?
What is the salary range can I expect for someone from my profile in India?
I would like to network with people in this forum from similar background as mine.
Thanks a lot!

Dubai, as far as I know, is dead :) Heard there are openings in Qatar, Bahrain. I am not really looking for Gulf jobs.
Wondering what makes Indian recruiters not respond to us?
Does US experience count in construction industry at all?
Btw, are you from construction?

Undergrad-Arch+Masters-Arch+RA(USA)+LEEDAP. Wrapped up last year to be in india.
There are jobs in India who has USA experience. Designing is done abroad with execution left to indian counterpart. Mostly the rut cad work + BMC approvals. I have no plans to work outside than what I can do on my own. Do Get some projects which I take but I am primarily with my husbands setup (co-concepted+executed) which require my designing+management skills.

Yes if you work for big builders/contractors/Pan India design firms (corporate kind). Depends on where you want to take your career. You into Construction management righ? Big projects are in steel these days, will definately value your experience if you are bringing that. Try big builders. Ord2Pnq (a fellow R2ier) moved a year ahead of me (civil engineer+Construction Management). His experiences are in his R2i diary. Will surely help you if you read it. He worked in retail development firm before his ongong stint at IIM.
