I just came across this article which says that Indian companies are coming to USA for recruiting back in India. I think this can be an exciting opportunity for aspirants who wants to go back to India.

The events name is called as "INDIA CALLING" and it is in New Jersey and California.

I'm flying from Mid-south to attend this fair @ New jersey.I've been
trying to find a job as a Project Manager in the Mainframe Field in Chennai / Bangalore for the past 1 year with not much luck.
I did see some companies with Mainframe projects participating and am hoping something would come out of this (job interviews or establishing contacts).
This is the first job fair of this kind I'm attending. I've got some valuable inputs from this forum on job search and r2i and hence thought I'll check with you guys about your thoughts on this.
Any suggestions on anything specific that needs to be done before or at the fair.I'm planning to take some copies of my resume with me.

Yes. It is only for collecting resumes. No interviews on site.

I went to Santa Clara event. Only 5 companies are there (Google, Amazon, Akamai, Unisys and Saba software). When I was there on Friday evening around 7 PM only 4 candidates are there. So not much crowd. I assume this is because either due to labor day weekend or not much publicity.

All these companies are represented by HR folks except Saba.

A colleague of mine visited this fair on Saturday evening (28th August) in NJ and he told me that they weren't much interested in talking to you. I was in 2 minds whether to go there or not (on Sunday -- 29th Aug).

After his experience, I decided to give it a skip and will upload my resume through their site, if needed.

I went to the NJ event, there were quite a few companies (around 20 - including amzn, unisys, hcl, CG, tcs and several others). They even had one pharma company looking for pharma/R&D people, name slips mind at the moment. It was a decent gathering of people (although cannot call it crowded). Some of them were discussing one on one with candidates too regarding job applications, planning etc. I really went there for general info since I'm not planning to r2i anytime soon, but would have been interesting for prospective r2i-ers. But I really didn't see any on-site interviews or anything. They were just handing out pamphlets and information about themselves, looked more like they were marketing themselves. People mostly were from HR.

Hi, Thanks for your response. Have you started looking for opportunities in India?. There are few companies who have many Mainframe projects like CTS, TCS, Wipro and openings have been coming now and then. ALso I have receied emails from CTS, Wipro through Naukri for openings in the US. I am also looking at the options at captive companies like RBS, Hewitt in CHennai which are looking for Mainframe PM's. We like to invite you to attend a job fair on March 23 in Santa clara, CA. This is only job fair of its kind where companies are looking to hire for their india operations. Normally all the interview formalities are finished when candidates are still in US and companies even help in some relocation expenses to India. We have been holding these job fairs for last 6 years and normally about half the people attending the job fair get the offers in next 3 months.

Currently, Intel, Netapp, IBM, Symanetc, MetricStream will be hiring for their India operations.
