What is the break even amount. Eg. If somebody offered 62$/hr on W2, would it be equavalent to 70$ corp-to-corp. Considering that no additional benefits are needed in either case and very minimal or no tax write off in case of corp-to-corp.

I have done both so here are my 2cents on the $ figure. It would take around 12-13% overthe bill rate just to breakeven and not counting the headache of Invoicing, Company Insurance, CPA's, Tax filing etc etc etc.
So, I would take $62/hr and run instead of $70/hr (C2C).

You can claim unemployment insurance when you are paid on W-2.

70$/hr c2c ...
the company u will work for normally takes some % of this 70$..
for example its 80-20% .. u will get 56$/hr and no worry of the payroll taxes.
if its 90-10% then 8-9% is payroll taxes... eventually it will be 80-20%.
62$/hr w2
no worry of the payroll taxes normally , again it depends on the company.
Hope this help!
