Anyone know about Haridwar (Uttaranchal) area?

Post by KRV »

Has anyone R2Ied to Haridwar or have insider knowledge about this town? I have heard of it only a religious place for Hindus with beautiful natural scenery and hill stations (Dehradun, Mussourie) nearby. What about living there? Schools, homes, quality of life, cost of living, facilities etc...? Can anyone shed light on life in Haridwar for senior level managers and their families (SBU head-level jobs)? Thanks.

It's a very peaceful city to live with low cost of living though it is increasing with time. I've spent good amount of time(~10 yrs) over there once.

Schools are one of the bests, for homes, you can get single familty home w/3-4 bedrooms in about 40Lakhs. Facilities are OK, for buying general stuff, you can do it in city but to get clothes etc, you may have to go to nearby places like 'jwalapur' or roorkee.

quality of life, have not seen it better anywhere else. LOVED it living there. Cost of living is like 15k /month for 2 people assuming you don;t overspend on stuff.

Jobs: not much scope there, no IT compines as far as I know (If you know, let me know too).

HTH.
