Cost of Living (2011) - Posting new thread as Inflation is at Highs these days.

We are a family of four (2 kids- 10 and 6) and my parents who have retired will live with us in Hyderabad.Could anyone please mention how much would it cost an avergage for the below mentioned goods/services/others etc..

I have not mentioned rent as we have a home built up in Hyderabad.

I have listed the most common and also not common.Please advise how much would it cost to currently live in Hyderabad.


Rice/flour
Vegetables
Mutton/Lamb/Sea Food/chicken -At least one item of them,once a week.
Milk for curd,others etc
Grocery like Hit,Paste,Brush,Soaps,Shampoos etc
Fruits/dry fruits etc
Bottled water delivered at home
High speed Internet
Televison
cell phone
Landline
Gas cylinder for cooking
Electricity
Maid stay at home
Driver (full time)
Paper/Magazines (An English daily delivered at home)
Home Maintenance for 2000 sft home
Ironing expesnes clothes
Medical insurance for 2 kids + wife + me
Medicines for kids (For Preventive & Regular )
Regular Doctor visits (Assuming 1 visit per 2 weeks)
Car Payment for 10 lakhs worth
Petrol expenses average for 30 kms ride
Car Insurance

Schooling costs for 2 kids- Medium and International type per month exp including transportation,books

Tuition costs for 2 kids for Maths and Sciences

Extra circular activities for kids like swimming,karate,basketball,cricket etc

Car servicing per month then what would it be for cleaning ,oil changes etc
Beauty parlor for women
Salon for men and 2 kids
Dentist expenses
Trips local with in states average by car
Shopping average for kids,wife,me (Minimum avergae per month)
Restaurant expenses(Weekly 1 time in a decent restaurant)
Misc -Tips at hotels,Parking tickets,sweets etc
Entertainment for dvds,movies at decent theatres (Monthly 2 times)

Maid stay at home Rs. 5000 (I have one part time Rs1000,
another for 4 hrs Rs.4000)

Paper/Magazines (An English daily delivered at home) Rs.150

Medical insurance for 2 kids + wife + me Do not know

This is indeed a useful post. With the continuous rise in prices, living in India is indeed getting difficult with every passing day. Youa re lucky to have a home built up in Hyderabad.
I am planning to buy one in Pune and settle and the thought itself is very scary!
