In a few years they might be extinct in India.
On our recent Las Vegas trip we saw Indian white tigers at the Mirage.
Made me feel like Vegas casinos might be our only hope for the survival of these creatures.

Admins,
No problem. I am in no way affiliated with the site whose link I posted in the deleted post. My point was that the tiger should not end up like the dinasaur (i.e extinct).

It’s not just tiger. The same thing is valid for almost any wild animal. Even the normal birds, animals are affected by human activity and it’s affecting our environment and living. For example, you hardly can see sparrows or kites or vulture and many other common birds in our day-to-day lives in India. It’s due to heavy destruction of their habitats (particularly the fruit trees), heavy use of pesticides and killing by man.

Extremists, terrorists nowadays use our forest areas as their hiding and training place. They use forest recourses to fund their activities.
Huge population pressure on natural resources with uneven and sometimes unplanned development projects is one of the major factors contributing to it. It’s a very worrying situation for us and particularly for our future generations.

That's so true. I wonder why there is such a difference in attitude. Recently, a mama whale and a baby whale came up the Sacramento river in the Bay Area. A whole bunch of people spent a lot of effort trying all sorts of things to get them back into the ocean. Finally, they went back but who knows why - maybe they just got bored looking at the people. After that, one of the volunteers said that they would have an intra-agency meeting to see what they could do better the next time such a thing happens.
Back home, we didn't even have the time to look at injured dogs. One glance and on with our lives.

Well the root cause of all this iin India is overpopulation which is putting tremendous pressure on natural resources. US population is 1/5th of that of India and US is 4 times bigger, so density is 1/20th of India.
Most of the US population does not worry about 2 times/day meal so they have all the time needed to think and do natural conservation.
In addition, US schools stress a lot about imporatnce of nature conservation so kids are aware of the goods of conservation.

Wait a minute! I see crows, vultures, kites, sparrows in India. Infact I lose sleep because of these birds in India. It is US that uses heavy pesticides and getting rid of birds and worms. What world are you in? I won't be surprised if you say next that dogs are ill treated in India and their population is reducing because of that and some animal activist said so.:emcry:
Having said that I agree with the main thread that endengered species are in extinction due to poaching and other causes.
