I really wish any action should result in the Pay-Low-Get-More work model of these IT services companies to be controlled.
I have NEVER worked for any of the Indian companies so far but who ever approached me to hire from these companies are AWEFUL. When a US employer offers in the range of $180 - $220 (Kilos) annual salary(with the standard US work culture of 9 to 5 job), these leeches offers around $120-$160 Kilos for a round the clock (in the name of Onsite-offshore model). Its full of political drama based time eating job, no innovation, no product.. Yukk.. This has to be shifted. US is not the machine of money to leech. Its a place where you can get best value for your knowledge and smartness.

For the kind and quality of work Indian IT company employees do, they are overpaid in US. Cheap politics shouldnt cost so much money.

Its a very debatable and complex topic. There are all kinds of jobs. Some need innovation and some need menial work. Good innovations usually happen in small startup companies but they may not even pay. Payment and work are not directly related

Decades ago, following a very humiliating process to obtain the Student Visa (a lot of us went through), I had determined to never take away an American's job post completion of my studies. I had thought if it ever came to that I'd rather go back.
Now, I'm a in the other shoe! having to train a h1b guy who will take over my job in a few weeks. I was deemed too expensive for the work they offer me
and could not compete with the unmarried youngster with minimal needs and commitments :(

Sorry to hear this. Are you a full time employee or contractor? Is there any huge severance being offered for you to train the replacement? If you are in NJ, you should be able to find another job.

Most of big tech and other enterprises are pro H1B,
According to big tech companies Fed are in a situation where they can bark but cannot bite as there is so much noise about this issue for long time and no action has been taken
It seems No one can stop H1B employees taking over American jobs or take away Working privileges on H4. Period

Its not H1B.....people always get replaced by younger counterparts.
Its part of the cycle.

Appreciate the concern . Yes, I'm a contractor - big mistake. but then getting a good stable FT position is very hard even in NJ/NY when you cross an age limit.
I'm re-tooling and rebooting my network yet again.
