Guys,
I am tired of being gouged by the bai's in India. They typically want to charge be 2 - 3 k
I always end up cleaning my house myself whenever I go for vacation. The vacation turns into a second job. :emangry:
I am planning to take a rooma with me the next time I go to india
Has anyone tried to use roomba in india. If so how does it work out ?
Are there other alternatives ?

Don't know about India, but I am happy with my Scooba here. As far as Roomba is concerned, I think the newer one has addressed my issues and sometime within the next 3 months or so, I will be replacing my old Roomba with the newer one.
With Scooba, I am satisfied, but an improvement of more scrubbing power in the brush would not hurt. For Scooba, I am satisfied with the size of the cleaning liquid contianer.
For Roomba, my dissatisfaction had to do with the corner brush and the size of container for dus collection. I believe they have improved both of those in the newer Roomba model.

I am waiting for the day when I can walk to a store in India and buy one of these Roomba/Scooba/CleanMate/etc. Currently, only CleanMate is available in India, and that too, through Internet. No replacement, etc. for faulty equipment, hence.
Regards,

2-3K per month is not too bad. That is 50-75USD per month. Compare that to here in the US, my maid charges 75UED PER VISIT. The bai is not gouging you, the maid in the US probably is. pay up man. that bai also does more than the roomba.
that said, the roomba/scooba can be a backup, though for me they have ot worked too well.

Roomba is indeed such a great substitute to the everyday bai. But I guess it is nice to have it either ways.
Has anyone used one in India. Are there is any AC/DC or other technical problems in taking one from the US to India?

You might want to google on the problem of batteries or replacements in India.
