What will you do after winning millions in a lottery?

Everybody's dream right? You take a road trip, stop at a gas station in Needles, Arizona, buy a lottery ticket and a Redbull, put the ticket in your glove box and forget about it, You find it 3 months later, you check the winning numbers and you realize you had won $10 million in that drawing.

You claim and lets say after tax and everything, you get to keep $5 million. How will be spend that money?
Put in savings?
Put in stocks?
Save part of it for kids college?
Pay the portion of national debt you and your family owe?
Take a long cruise?
Retire?
R2I? or all of the above?

As far as I am concerned I once won $10 in superlotto and bought 10 new tickets and lost on all of them. That's how lucky I have been with lottery tickets. I have also once purchased a ticket on the same day just minutes later in a gas station where someone hit the jackpot. Do you have interesting stories of friends winning or you winning?

Please do not post stories of making money the hard way, those are boring :)

Rajram, I am convinced that you indeed have won a big lottery as only such unexpected wealth/joy can make person not logical to have all these poll options :) !! Now it makes sense for you to be pro-bono admin :)

Cruise, college, stocks - are you kidding? The blue marlin bar in Costa Rica might be graced by my presence If I win the lotto (I can't because I don't buy) - so that would be R2CR (Costa Rica). OK, after that a trip to Brazil to figure what was the Brazil Blowout chakra was talking about (darn, he was talking about some hair and I thought it was blowing up collagen in the buttocks), anyways Brazil would be worth visiting and after that perhaps a trip to Thimpu.

Secure the future somewhat for immediate family, visit few places in the world and rest of the money for philanthropic causes. If I win lottery one thing I would not do is to live exuberant/extravagant lifestyle, live decent.

I might also try an expedition to the summit of mount everest those crampons, ice axes, sherpas, oxygen tanks cost over $50000. If I come back without frost bites, I might build a massive house and watch NDTV and CNN IBN all day.

I would call up Harker school and tell them that I can afford them but am yet passing up on the option. :)

I would have DH become a SAHD and put kids in afterschool daycare. :)

I would contribute a million to my kids' school and condition would be that PTA folks should not poke their nose in how school spends it. :)

I would hire a 12x7 chauffeur for the car.
