Hello..
We r2ied in June with the understanding that first few months I will work from home as us employee and then take transfer to India office. My boss ok'ed it saying July 31 I need to let them know about my preferred position.
I just got my bonus and turns out it has taken big hit I mean a humongous hit compared to my peers in US. Appraisal period ended in April 11 itself.
I still am waiting for a justification from my mgmt but it's a shock as I always got rating and bonus. My performance has been good to excellent.
1. What can I do to fix this situation.
2. If bonus is once paid can it be changed. If it can't then no point in fighting as I plan to change my job.
3. How should I approach the situation with HR and all.
Thanks.

These sort of things should nto be a surprise to you as your relocation package should have highlighted the details. If you are continuing to get paid in US $ at current salary then there is no reason to get low balled on the bonus. You should check if its really you or everyone in the Indian organization has been compensated as such. HR is good about these kinds of things.
Finally, bonuses are never adjusted once paid out. The allocations would have been planned between your business unit and HR. You can't fight them on this and expect to win...sorry to hear that though.

Think of the biggest bonus you got from R2I, bonus/money is transient....R2I is long term...God Bless u

I have setup a meeting with them to discuss further. Please provide more inputs.
Actually there is no relocation package in place or it is not yet discussed since the understanding between me and my manager was that I will simply be working remotely until July.

Not true. Bonus are adjusted all the time by HR. I have been in this situation many many times where we had to adjust the bonus amount of an employee after the fact. I have seen in many companies where they are late in bonus calculations (specially if its based on certain objectives - MBOs) where company will pay a flat amount and then readjust it later.

If there was a pre-disposition to do it knowing that the final nos. were not allotted then it will end up with the experiences you had. Otherwise, there is no way a bonus that was alloted to an individual based on certain criteria will be changed. Aside from being a corporate finance nightmare, it breeds distrust and inequity in pay for performance. Normally such situations end up with a lot of employee dis-satisfaction and attrition.
