A flowing river, a book, thermos of chai, enough $$ in the bank, a cell phone with only outgoing calls facility, Begum Akhtar crooning "Woh jo hum mein", feet in the water, small pebbles and rocks to throw into the river...

Why is it that the human mind always longs for something else when you have a good thing going?
How come I dont know the meaning of being contended?
If only my mind can keep still!!!!!

There is a bit of you in me. I guess it is the dreamer thingy. I am a people person. I need people around me that I can relate to. I am happy, and willing to trust, and build new relationships in new places. I would love to go to a weekly concert in pretty much all indian music genres. Home, garden, family, friends, love, life, health, music, and dance...all sound good. I found that I am a simple person ready to be inspired by all of the above. I was listening to an audio book by Covey. They pretty much summarized the quadrant containing our longing to live, love, learn, and leave a legacy. All of them are important. All of your items in your list can be placed in to one of these four bins. Have fun my friend.

Lovely.
What a butiful idea !
IMO, everyone should spend some time with nature and also with themselves, listening to their own heart-beats sometimes,
away from that city life's Noise, haste, waste, worry, stress, tension, rush, crush, dirt, dust, audaciousness, pollution, population and mere waste.
Cool.
I remember, Max or someone had one beautiful Poem's lines :
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence !!
Silence is golden, smtms !
nice thought ! ..

Interesting observation. Whether the sound of silence is deafening or the likes of flowing river, mellow music, is all relative. I vaguely remember one of my very fav sitcoms MASH where Hawkeye suddenly goes temporarily blind fixing a stove in a nurse's tent and during recovery happens to intently listen to sound of splashing water. I dont remember the exact diaglogue but it was eloquent. So to an unfortunate blind man, it could make a whole different meaning!!

Did you take my comment as pejorative?
