when I recollected my top 3 best moments of my life, I was surprised by the result. It all involved family and sharing success with family & friends.

What happened to all my expensive vacations, individual achievements, promotions, green cards, bank accounts? I felt none can match the power of family and friends.

is this the same for everyone?

You are on the right track if your priority is family and if your memories and life revolves around them.

I once listened to Marshall Goldsmith and he said something similar to - Don't burn yourself out at work (Career, Money, etc) at the cost of your family.. Cos, Goldman Sacks, Google, Exxon or any firm wouldn't remember you when you are gone.. but, your loved ones will.

PS: You = Anybody

Looking at my financial networth and getting the feeling that I am now ready to quit my job and ready to R2I. Discussed at home over the weekend and decided to call it quits. Went to office, told my boss that we need to talk and gave him my required notice to quit.

Carrying a half-pound precious metal in my pocket and roaming the Oak Tree Road (New Jersey).

After getting my first professional job (in US), (for a week or two), looking at every person I come across and guessing whether I am going to make more money than him/her or not.

When I search for my up in air moments ,all I can see is
"Brother, no one in world can make me feel as special as you did "

1. At PRL Ahmadabad every year there is a science quiz held between top schools and some 200 students participate.I was chosen to represent my school, expectations were very high.I did not really do as well expected and was eliminated before the final round.I came home with a heavy heart and lost face. My bro was waiting eagerly to revisit the questions and answers.I believe it was after listening to one of my answers in physics, he was really impressed. He called his buddies that night and told 'em about my experience and as usual the discussion continued thru the night , The pride on his made me feel like I had won the Harvard scholarship.
2. I was quiet excited regarding my second job due to the company's line of business but the offered package was little less than what I asked for. I was trying hard to negotiate but then took it on bro's advice. He treated the family to the dinner that night. Now that I think of it the number was pretty low .. but I am yet to have the moment that comes close to the sense of achievement when he made it a point that I was first one in the family to earn this figure.
