Friday thread:
There have been several useful/helpful/ming-boggling/thought-provoking/interesting/inspiring posts in this forum but wanted to know your pick.
What post impacted you the most?
Here are my picks:
The
eulogy post by chaklilvr was amazing. I was so mesmerized and moved by his posts that i sent him numerous PMs but got no response from him. I wish i had joined this forum when chaklilvr was active here.
The
second post was a more recent one by Koeli. Again, i'm so inspired by her and i'm glad that i got a chance to meet her in person. These posts put things in perspective, don't they?
Share your favorite ones, please!

Jai Vinayak's post/Thread. Was a nail-biting thriller.

PG,
Good thread, thanks for pointing me to those posts, indeed they were moving.

Mr Long, After a while I abruptly stopped following it, do you know what was the conclusion?

is it OK if we list our own posts :) j/k
Major impact this forum had on me was about finance. I had 0 knowledge about finance. There are many posts by Bobus/Desi/RRK that helped me in understanding finance and pushed me into a disciplined financial path. Heres the post/doc that started it all
Vinod's Basic financial planning Doc

No favorite post(s) but rather a thread. The one that impacted me the most has been
ILuvHyd's r2i diary. Changed my view of R2I. I still remember reading
part one almost at one shot on a couple of sunny wintry afternoons, but also reading some posts in
part two as they got posted by him.

One of the posts that touched my heart was on Indian education system by modus_vivendi. I am sure there are several others that I haven't read because of my recent inactivity. PG, thanks for sharing a gem like koeli's post that I had missed reading.

There are two R2ICLUBs in this world. One before that post. And one after. :15:

Well,... I would not call it as " My favorite thread/post " but still would like to draw some public attention here, as I see it !!
As I am observing this forum here,
few threads went incredibly,... through the roof and in just a very few (minimal) amount of time/days
they captured the maximum number of viewings / grabbed the public attention to a great deal of amount ! ( In a very limited amount of time ! )
Again,...We are talking about average here - da total Max. Nos of runs made per total Min. nos of overs thrown !!
And, among this ranking category, I noticed the following ones,...
Jai Vinayak's one - a hradcore drama, mystery, full of suspense, thrilling story,........ ( giving an excitement at every moment, what next ! )
Nithyanad's religious film actress scandal one,..... ( Samadhi se le kar, Sambhog taq ) [ from interstitial to intercourse ]
and last but not the least,.......which caught very very dearly attention of mine ( though, have not read it yet )
"Maya's Diary " - this thread ran on a max number of viewings, in an extremely short amount of time and
it put behind all other mega holder's , mega important threads, back behind, floating on the platform back so ruthlessly, [ as if some "Toofaan mail" passed thro' a railway station insulting the platform commuters for not stopping there at all, and leaving the platform let play behind !!! ]
( looking like a sh*t) in just almost no amount of time !
( just look there the first post started date and total nos of viewings earned, as per date ) , Plain Incredible !
No wonder this thread made many many threads looking like shining low
and especially the thread of mine ( those useless image gallery - that took tremendous amount of time, posts and collection of mat. from all around da corner from various field )
a hard, tight slap right on the face, perhaps telling me to pack up and take a hike ! :(
It seemed like, someone whispered into the ears along with that breeze of wind,..,..... "Yo Man ! Bundle up and make a way,.. EXIT is this way =====> " :(
:(

One of my favorite post was from PG where he goes to temple and his kids do the sashtang dandavat (Prostration) on the hot temple floor without complaining whereas our Chennai guy flinches. A parent in me learned a lesson.
