Care to elaborate why is Austin's weather better than Dallas's? Austin is in South compare to Dallas, so shouldn't it be hotter there compare to Dallas? Just curious.

Hill Country area starts from Austin and expands to the west of it. North/North west austin is hilly and there are three lakes (late Travis, Town Lake & Lake austin). It's one of the greenest cities in the country.

I was looking for a job in Austin/Dallas, I got a job offer in San Antonio, TX.
How is this area compared to Austin/Dallas? Any members from SA?
I was in San Antonio for a day last week..I didn't get a chance to go around..any views from members? I have friends and family in Houston..none in San Antonio..is there an Indian community in SA? How hard is it make new firends and start life all over again. I am moving from MI..after 7 years in MI.
I am looking forward for some warm weather..any body from SA or around..can you shed some light on SA?

boca2blr;475263Any city where the school district doesn't allow corporal punishment at schools.
Didn't know that they get spanked in Texas schools.

It's absolutely shocking to know that "In 21 states including Mississippi and Texas, corporal punishment is still practiced in schools and is called licks or paddlings" (
link). Never knew that!
