Have not used it yet. But planning to use it once I R2I this year. Have spoken with them and feel pretty comfortable about their knowledge of both Indian and US tax laws.

I used them and they did a great job of my (what was to me a fairly complicated) tax return. Plus they are setup to do everything over the web/phone/fax ... so you don't have to be in Pune to avail of their services. (For e.g., I took camera picts of w2s, 1099s, etc. and uploaded to a folder on their secure site.)

How do you know that your information is safe i.e. SSN, your net worth, etc.
Many Companies in Pune are here today and gone tommorow
Also do a search on r2i to see some examples of accountants in cahoots with corrupt IT officials and criminals.
Just do it yourself. That is the better approach. Keep your information to yourself. IMO.
You can use turbo tax for free over the web. There are also many other web sites that offer free services.

BTW, as their login page is http://www.usindiatax.com/client_login.html is INSECURE.
This generally tells you, how serious are they about your privacy etc.

Short-staffed, lacking expertise, High charges while providing just average customer service -- this has been my experience ever since the founder, the only expert there passed away a couple years ago:
-Typical charge for filing taxes for a couple (husband+wife, both U.S. and India taxes) is upwards of $500 - this is much more than charged by some CPAs I hired while in the U.S. They charge you more, but don’t expect great service - customer service is just about ordinary.
-I have to struggle very hard every time to get my tax preparer on the phone. I can connect in real time only after repeated phone calls.
-In case of any complications, they don’t really have experts there. Lack of expertise could be one reason why they take so long to get back.
-They also don’t follow up on refunds and can’t help much in anything other than basic filing of taxes. If after filing taxes you have to deal with the Indian IT Dept, you are on your own.
-To give them credit where due, they can handle your case as long as your tax situation is typical. However if that’s the case I feel you shouldn’t need an expensive tax-advisor such as USIndiaTax.com. Do use their services if you cannot find anyone else / cannot do it yourself.
Needless to say, I am looking for a good alternative:
--I have not tried using Turbotax and don’t know if it can do U.S. taxes for r2I’ed U.S. Citizens. Appreciate feedback from anyone who explored this route.
--If you are aware of another tax preparer who can do both U.S. + India taxes, please suggest.
