My opinion:

Lot of it depend on your style of investment, $ amount and time frame; Having said that see if XOM can hit $87 ish range and go long with x% (x can be 25 or 50) and when it moves up keep adding more

Are there any swing traders in this forum? Hold time of 5 - 10 days? Do you guys use technical analysis? How do you scan for stocks and what indicators do you use?

I am wondering if swing trading is the way to go esp. for 2015 since we will be entering 5 year of bull market. Thoughts?

IMO, Swing trading is mostly speculation it is not much different than g@mbling. It is marketed as a get-rich-quick technique, you know the kind where anybody can make 2-4% every month just like that.

Technical analysis(TA) on its own is mostly voodoo. From my experience, TA is one more tool to be used in combination with ten others to manage investment (fundamental analysis, Macroeconomic conditions etc.. are few other tools)

TA is mostly used to enter or exit a position, and it is mostly used to follow a trend in a solid stock/instrument.

Hi all investors,

I am a new bee in stocks investment. Need your guidance and suggestions.

Planning to start with a smaller amount as of now, say $200 a month. I guess mutual funds should be the way to go. Could you please suggest good growth funds to go for. Also how to invest in mutual funds, which website and all..

Also, which money market account is good? Planning to open one to have access to direct equity stocks.

Thanks,
Lakshya
