I found some old threads but nothing that clearly addresses this: which is the method that generally gives best exchange rate (when time is not concern)? I have used both at OnlineSBI and ICICI Money2India and generally find SBI better. e.g. their websites state that SBI gives Rs. 46.84 to Rs. 46.94 and ICICI Rs. 46.74 to Rs. 46.95 today depending on amounts. I am curious if anybody found a better way.

I have used in the past and satisfied with their execution..

SBI online has the best rate, based on my research.

Looks the SBI NY Wire transfer gives different rate that onlineSBI ACH transfer, not sure why...

I find money2india better than remit2india. My wife pointed out recently that she found hdfc giving better rate. You may want to check it as well.
