What's the current best interest rate on an INR Fixed-Deposit? Here's what I've found so far...

Is this for NRE/NRO account or resident account? I guess it is for Resident Rupee deposit. NRE account does not pay higher than what you would get in US for $$ deposit. That arbitrage was eliminated long time back.

Old-Spice2 -- yes, I'm looking for rates on non-repatriable FDs (i.e., I convert some $$ and open rupee-FDs in India).

KVB was offering just 3 months ago 10% per annum for resident deposits of 2years. Now it is 9%

Almost all the co-operative banks offer much higher interest rates. TNSC Bank, for eg, offers 9.5% (10.5 for seniors) as of last week. Only problem is they are not computerised yet. So need to visit the bank and sign the documents.
