Commodity futures contract which enable you to buy or sell a commodity for a predetermined price at a specific date in future on futures exchanges. The other type of derivatives is the commodity options contract which gives you the right but not the obligation to buy or sell a specific quantity of the commodity for a specified amount/ rate on or before a particular date. Others are commodity swaps and, commodity forwards which are traded in OTC markets
