Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made up for the Christian fundamentalists bad behavior by these good words about India.

Very hurtful language used by the protesters:
"..by loudly asking for God's forgiveness for allowing the false prayer of a Hindu in the Senate chamber.
"Lord Jesus, forgive us father for allowing a prayer of the wicked, which is an abomination in your sight,"
"This is an abomination," he continued. "We shall have no other gods before You."

I dont see any difference between them and the other fundamentalists around the world who have no respect for other religions and beliefs.
No need to be hurt by these morons. Just few bad apples (hopefully) in America. You do wonder why such hatefulness towards Hinduism though out of all religions.
I just hope there wont be any "tit-for-tat" acts by Hindu fundamentalists in India.

Priest/Chaplain words were something like 'transcedental glory of the diety supreme'. I am a hindu and am confused heck of a lot by that statement. Any simpler translations of what that meant?

Seems like according to rules, all prayers should only be in English. The priest probably had a hard time translating Sanskrit hymns.

Don't be hurt. The priest was so mundane that the excitement generated by our brethren was the only thing worthy of note.

Per dictionary it means "a Being beyond ordinary or common experience". The priest was asking the reality (transcendental Being) to take himself (unreal), along with the senate (unreal), and perhaps the instigators (again unreal) as well, towards the real (the Being) .......
...well..now I am confused :emembarrassed:

A Hindu priest praying that the almighty take us from darkness to light...
..interrupted by people invoking the name of a person, whose
life was dedicated to taking people from darkness to light...
It is sad that God has been hijacked by man.
