Schweser notes are quite good for Level 1 and 2. The basics are well covered. However one complete reading of the prescribed textbooks by CFA Institute helps a lot. (One reading from textbooks followed by quick revision from Schweser notes is a good approach).

How is CFA compared to MBA Finance?
What kind of jobs and salary should one expect after being CFA?
I am software professional with 7 years of exp and MS from US. I am planning to do CFA as I don't think I would like to be techie in future also.

This is a good article... though some of the data may be outdated.. key points are still valid.

CFA is a good program if one wants to pursue in a specific field like equity analysis/portfolio management/quantitative analysis and is highly valued among investment banking sector. 2-3 years experience in specific field and getting the CFA qualification is the way to go. With MBA you have a wide choice. The above forum is also a good one for someone pursuing Level 1,2,3.

Keep in mind that it takes a while to go through and clear all levels. Its a huge commitment and not something you can do on the side. Make sure you have a good ROI and a good way to use the certification, as with all certifications.
