Hi guys, have been reading on R2i since 2009, but never found myself writing anything.
Anyway this is how it goes, have been in the UK, for the past 25 years (since a child), but now parents ill health and desire for my kids to retain our culture and life the indian life want us to go back. So we have now decided to take the plunge and settle down in Pune with parents, 2 kids - 6 year old and 4 years old girl.
Myself and husband have both worked here solid for around 20 years and have built up a good investment base of approx Rs 1.5 crore, we have a home in UK which we shall rent out and we shall have monthly income of Rs 1 lakh ( is this enough ?). We brought a 2bhk flat in Mumbai some 5 years ago and that is now worth Rs 2.5 crore, with no loan and cuurently rented out at Rs 70,000 monthly.
I am looking for a good school for our kids, with excellent teaching ethos and small class sizes, have heard of Lexicon Int and Vibgyor High - please help !!!
We have pretty much decided that intially we shall rent in either Kalyani Nagar or Viman Nagar- do these areas have a nice NRI community base, as I am worried about kids making friends and missing the UK. And then later on we shall take the plunge and buy once we the kids settled down into school.
Please guys Im looking for any advice or support that any R2 pune people can offer me, Thanks.

hi gitapune2012
I have r2i'ed to Pune earlier this year. You sound very well off financially meaning one less thing to worry about and hence I hope the transition goes smoother for you. Your choice of living areas is also good. Initially you can rent a furnished 3BHK in that area, which will cost you around Rs 30-40K. Try Zircon in Viman Nagar, really good society. Kalyani Nagar is really crowded.
Wish you all the best.

We are in the same boat as you. We will live in Koregaon Park. We like it there. Our choice of school is Vibgyor. There is a one time donation. This varies. School fees are about 65K per year. This includes transportation.
Cheers
