Royal wedding of the year

Kate and William will get married on April 29.

Should this be in entertainment section or in news ?
Should this be wedding of the year or the decade?
Anyways the rate at which media (US, India and all over world) are hyping this event, IMO it has become an entertaining news that can't be ignored even if one wants to :)

Kate has to worry about lot about paparazzi and photographs but onething she doesn't have to worry about is MIL :) or her ghost haunting in looks/popularity according to this slide show Most-beautiful-royal-women.

My comments on the rediff slide show :

Expected Diana to come at top in polling but was surprised to see her in 4th place after Kate Middleton. Wasn't surprised that our own Late Maharani Gayatridevi still has her charisma coming in at number 6.

Why people in US or in older british colonies like India are so much obsessed with internal affairs of British Royal family BTW? Is it because of master-slave mentality not dying even after generations or reasons are too complex to explain this obsession ?

RRS - IMO, its not complicated. I guess people are just plain curious to witness a royal wedding... and media hypes because they can :)

Probably that is the reason. Celebrity and royal weddings interest people. Didn't we see so much hoopla around Ash and Abhishek's wedding.

Having followed up with the sad past of Princess Masako and her tribulations with expectations of male heir, I could not ridicule her current looks. She looks like she deserved to be in the list based on this past photograph when she was young Crown-princess-masako.

Celebrities atleast work hard for their money, what have the "royals "done besides enjoying tax free income on the wealth obtained by looting? It just exemplifies the weakness of human mind.

To me this Royal Wedding is a great Rambo circus....with a little too many clowns.

I know I watch movies meant for old people who like Clint Eastwood, but does that mean I will buy one of these 'authenic' replica of royal wedding ring (with certificate of authenticity!)???

At any rate, it seems to be fun event for British folks. Hope its enjoyable enough.
