hi,

we have a 3 year old with pdd-nos and we are planning to move in april 2008.

there are quite a few institutions which take autistic children like asha and so forth . you can find the list at www.autism-india.org.

i talked to all of these schools and they were all helpful but they were not for us as our son has only pdd-nos.

close to c.v.raman nagar is the spastic society of karnataka and they have a speech therapy and o.t unit and also a small school.

as far as i know u will not be able to send both you kids to the same school . india still does not ahve inclusion settings.

there is also a program called communication deal on hutchins road.dr.pratibha karanth runs this and this is more like the us based program.the chldren go there for 3 hrs a day and recieve therapy but this might not suit your child .their website is
www.communicationdeall.org

the spastic society is closest to c.v.raman nagar.as far as i remmeber all the rest are far away from c.v.ramna nagar.

hope this was helpful.if u have any more questions or if we can be of more help pls let us know.

take care.

I think some of the newer academy/Intl "type" day schools admit kids w/ special needs. I believe the school that my kids go to accommodates kids w/ special needs. I'm not sure about the school's capabilities or its limitations.

what i said when i meant inclusion settings is that they do not have the facilities like in the united states which is what i am sure the kid is going to now. it all depends on how severe his symptoms are and whether the school will think his behavior to be disruptive.you can definitely call some of them up and find out . my son has limited speech and this in itself took out a lot of schools for us.

they might want to see the kid or see some reports(speech and o.t evaluations, doctor eval etc).

schools start late may /early june and admissions to most of them are done by now...so it will be better to start calling them right away.

even the special schools have limited seats.
