US recession hitting Indian IT jobs, right time to move or not

Post by angel02 »

Hi,

Is it true that US recession is hitting indian IT co's effecting IT professionals. this will help us to think twice whether this is the right time to move or not to in india.

Having got the news from few friends out in india says they are getting affected and IT co's too.

Having read the article this morning from the below link on msn
http://news.in.msn.com/columns/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1308315

I think extra step to be taken before planning to move at this crucial time affecting US recession in india.

Can some IT professionals out there throw some lights on this.

Thanks

Angel.

I am moving soon; my company and several others have decent expansion plans for their India/Bangalore office. BTW, there have been job cuts in the valley, too. I am hearing different opinions about hiring activity. I stopped worrying about that :)

My company is a top 5 US Financial firm and has decent expansion plans in India. They are also starting/expanding in Brazil recently.

Hi There,

Thanks for the two of the inputs from the previous message.

I would like to hear from the people who are already in Bangalore as they have better picture as whats going on in indian IT co's out there at all various levels.

We R2I always have greener picture out here sitting abroad rather than what is the fact out there.

I want to hear from them(Blrians), are they considering to move from their present job to something new as they think IT job market is rising or they can get better job role and salary or they are taking making hard step to move from their current job role.

Thanks

Angel.

Don't know about India in general, but in my company we are hiring more in Bangalore and have a hiring freeze in US.
But, I can see a hiring freeze happening in Bangalore too if the economic conditions worsen.
