Where is Quality Control when releasing government/Railways advertisements? Even a 10 year old would catch these before these ads actually get into print media :angry:

First it was Sonia, Kapil Dev, Manmohan etc. with a Pakistani general..


Now Delhi in Pakistan with Gaya totally 'gaya' case in Bay of Bengal.


Calling these ad agencies & government babus as Morons is an understatement.

I read Amupam Kher rightly blasting the UPA government today on their failure to give wide publicity to Martyr's day. He screamed.. "Had they been Bhagat Gandhi or Rajguru Nehru you would have seen full page advts by pwrcentres today in all newspapers" :p

So true.. A remarkable anniversary day today, but our babus in Delhi have no interest in buzzing. :angry:

Any other country in the world would organize mega events to showcase such remarkable anniversaries. Now even Bhagat Singh is not 'secular' enough! He was sidelined to a small space on page 8 of my local English paper... reserve all tax payer money to one of those 'fake' Gandhi anniversaries popping up into full page ads..

few things which re-introduced me to the reality of india
- a man was beating a beggar type of 3-4 yr old boy mercilessly right in front of my car..it seems the mother had left the child and had gone for a few minutes to tend to something and this boy scratched this man's expensive car(the man claims)..he used belt and shoes to beat him up...

The above post has upset me! What did these poor kids do, to be begging on the streets, leave alone getting beaten by strangers?

I spent a few minutes thinking about who to blame for their suffering and i went blank. I realized that i've got to move on and accept it as a harsh reality of life!

May be i imagine my son's face on these kids! May be i used to think such realities never existed until i read about it here.

Yeah, it is pitiable, they do not celebrate birthday (or at least 100th anniversaries) of Prithiviraj Chauhan, King Ashoka, Vikramaditya, Rana Pratap, Tipu Sultan, Wodeyars, rani Lakshmibai, 1000th anniversary of the sun temple, Somnath temple anniversary, Amriteshwara Temple anniversary, and Anniversary of Lingaraja Temple, Jama Masjid anniversary, the Church in Goa and Church in Chennai anniversary.

It is sad that pseudo secularists do not celebrate all these. I agree with you. We need seculars and fundies to celebrate this - sad state of affairs, ain't it?

Would be nice if MMS govt spent 75 crores on each of those affairs I have listed and many more. Perhaps, we should try to bring bank Atal and BJP because we used to have grand celebrations under them like the Rath Yatra, and they really knew how to spend taxpayer money of 75 crores on all these celebrartions, now I am upset too.

Krishna Deva Raya, Hampi, Vijayanagar - I think it is a CONspiracy against Karnataka.

PS: Instead of berating MMS and Congress for not spending 75 crores on temple celebration or Krishna Deva Raya celebration, you should be asking that govts (whether BJP or Congress or anyone) be spending money to alleviate the following situations:

Our AC was not working well, so we called in for repairs.
The guy reported a leak on the compressor side and then on the cooling side as well. Well, these have gone for repairs now and we shall have to sleep non-ac tonight.
While he was here, I asked him to check out other ac's as well. Two more require gas refill.
I asked him as to why this has happenned within 4 years of new.
He complained about the pollution, not just dust but corrosive gases as well.
We told him that this never happenned to us earlier, and that we had had ac running for over 10 years previously without such a mishap.
He asked whetther we had local ones earlier. And he was correct. Earlier(80s), we had a local guy put together ac's for us, both window type as well as split type.
He told us that the local ones are more sturdy. Now that branded ones have become cheaper no body goes for locally build ones. The branded ones use the cheapest possible material to keep the cost down.
I have no way of tracking down the guy that built for us earlier.

I told you guys to enjoy nice vacation when Desi was out. It was the time to take break and say what you ever you wanted to say illogical, sentimental, historical, unscientific etc.,

Now he is back and if you did not enjoy your break fully, dont blame me..:))
