Iphone 4G unveiled!

Post by sumeet »

Jobs unveiled the much anticipated and discussed 4G iphone with the trademark style.
Is it evolutionary or truly revolutionary?

Specs and improvements suggest jobs and team have listened to the users and opinions and delivered a good improved iphone now with all bells and whistles which common smart phones half the price were commonly featuring.:)

Check engadget.com or gizmodo.com for full IPhone iOS 4 reviews.

The bar has been setup way high. Facetime video calling is going to revolutionize phone calls.

It does not support flash and that hinders lot of access on lot of websites. Facetime calling is just from iphone to iphone. Anyhow they have to release something new to keep selling. There is only certain % of population ready to pay such outrageous prices for plans and phones. Going by my 3GS experience, I would not buy it.

Comparing yesterday's leader RIMM stock chart to today's star Apple one can safely assume that the battle for the smart phones is Apple's to lose. More sites are optimizing for HTML-5. As jobs and Google have supported HTML5, it won't be long before Flash vanishes off mobile phones. Youtube, one of the largest flash sites has a HTML5 version which speaks volumes of Apple's strength.

Anyway my point is not to get into an Apple vs rest of world fight. Let the market decide who is the winner. Personally I am an Apple fan however I didn't like AT&T so I jail-broke my Iphone.

AT&T cannot get its act together with 3G, 4G for them is a dream. They do offer 4G in certain cities.

Was it not always there so long in other video enabled phones for ages, of course the experience itself was/is nothing to write home about and the 3G BSNL video calling is a jerky, fuzzy affair and i have already set my phone back to 2G, atleast the battery of my N95 lasts a full day now!

Even here facetime calling is with wifi only and then you have to have iphone at both ends. AT&T does not have guts to allow such huge amount of data to be transmitted over its network. Internet tethering is still a dream.

The only thing I like about iphone is its ease of use and its mind blowing interface. And that is the major reason for its popularity. You don't have to be a techie to operate it like a computer. Feature wise there are lot better phones in market but they are complicated.

And what did you do after jail breaking your phone? Switched to T-mobile?

10million iphones will vanish most used software on websites? Apple not allowing flash is our loss, Apple is just capitializing and making us hostage. By not allowing lot of other apps like multitasking, making folders on phone etc it keeps full control over its phone. We have to jail break to fully use the potential of this phone. BTW there are lot of websites online which I would like to surf if flash was allowed. Its not just youtube or some other major sites.
