Discussion on Religion - For believers only.
I want to dedicate one thread for those who like to discuss religion without worrying about rational thoughts, disturbances from atheists etc.
This is for believers only. If you are a person with "different" ideas and don't respect religious sentiments, you have to stay out of this thread. We will respect those with sentimental feelings and give some space for them to express their believes and discuss here.

What better way to start a thread dedicated to the irrationally ignorant than with a dedication to the Lord of the Intellect that He may awaken us from the deep slumber of beginningless ignorance and bless our intellects with the Light of true wisdom.

Do you see a "Thanks Given" with a thumb-up sign ? Although irrational, that is the thanksgiving button !!

I had posted this before, but then, it was wiped out in the hacking incident.

James Martin, SJ (society of jesuits) has a recent book out called "between heaven and mirth". This book is about humor found in the stories, legends and writings of christian saints and apostles. Recently he was on Colbert Report ( November 9th evening, just after the hacking incident on this forum ) and talked about this book.

Are there fun and humor in the religious stories and scriptures of the hindus ? of muslims ? Sikhs ? Jains ? and Buddhists ?
My google search efforts to find a compiled anthology of this nature turns up nothing.
Fr. James Martin has been a regular on the Colbert Report for a while... here is an older snippet:

anwesha;585806Father Mathew Vellankal is innovative. Iwonder how it be to introduce a similar drive thru service for Hindu temples :) http://www.wfsb.com/story/27415389/california-drive-thru-church-offers-two-minute-services
Lot of Indian Temples have a sort of walk through service.
You stand in a queue, shuffle across and then are just pushed away from the darshan space to make way for the following people in the queue.
