Please help in choosing a location within US to reside

Dear Friends,
My consulting job allows me to work from home. So I can work from anywhere in US, provided I have an high speed internet connection in my home.

I thought about different locations within US -- California, Texas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Florida, NY/NJ etc.,

A little background: I am a naturalized US citizen, Sr IT Professional and single. I am also looking for a suitable Hindu Indian girl residing in US for an early marriage, as I am already 35.

While looking at the proximity of number of Hindu bharat matrimony female profiles and the ease of meeting them (even if it means flying/driving to other metros with in US). NY/NJ seem to be way better than the rest of the locations...
Moreover NY/NJ seem to have more number of Fortune 500 companies and more number of Universities/colleges compared to other metros.

I think winter and fall would be harsher in NY/NJ coupled with commuting time but from the possibility of getting a suitable life partner and the possible career opportunities, NY/NJ seem to be great. So at least until I get married and get settled with the life and career, I am thinking of relocating to New Jersey.

I am interested in renting a single BR under $1000 per month rather than staying with the roommates as I am comfortable that way and I am also hoping to get married ASAP.

The consulting company I am going through is a Jersey city, NJ based consulting company. I was told that there is a possibility that I can also work out of their development centre in Jersey City, NJ but there is no guarantee on it and they can tell me if it is possible or not by end of the week. Even if that is not possible, I can always work from home provided I have good high speed internet connection.

So basically I am confused. I need to make a decision on which city I can reside, find an Apt ASAP and get high speed Internet connection ASAP to get myself going. With this particular scenario... please help and provide suggestions.

If you think NY/NJ would be a good idea... could you please suggest a good location within NY/NJ that would be ideal for my situation. For example Jersey City, Edison, Newark, Iselin, Elizabeth, Paterson, Brunswick etc.,
