1. A number plate can only have 'Seven' (7) characters.
2. A city doesn't issue number plates
3. Contact you nearest Opthometrist.

It was a Virginia # plate in Dallas I saw
Issued by Virginia Issue ..

I dont need to go to opto.

I believe VA also limits the license plate to 7 characters.

Ok, it could have been 'H1HATRS' . He/She or a close one may have lost a job to a H1.

It is just freedom of speech.

At least in UK, one can opt for a personal number plate. It is charged extra; the amount depending on the speciality of the characters chosen.

Actually same is in USA. These are called Personalized and Vanity License Plates. You can make up your wordsd using characters and numbers.

Personalized plates should have both letters and numbers and is cheaper. Vanity plate can have all letters and is costlier. They do not charge by number of characters here in USA.

However, the point was that the length can be a maximum of 7 characters/numbers. So vsudhu is right. It migh be something like below.

Yes, they do not charge by number of characters in UK either.
But charges are different for different combinations.

eg. 'IAMKING' would be expensive
but 'Daddu01' may not be as expensive.
