I am surprised a thread was not opened for IPL so far.

Today's match was really interesting and was very close. I am not sure why KKR threw away a winning match so easily. Until 14th over everything looked alright for KKR.

Dhoni really handled the placements in the last over very well. There was a bit of tense in 19th over bowled by Randiv, he gave 17 runs away in 6 balls, when 26 were required from 12 balls.

Very good first match. Poor decision by Gambhir to come down the order. KKR snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Dhoni's captaincy was superb. CSK is still the team to beat.

Gambhir and Wasim Akram sitting next to each other.
One a passionate Indian and other a Paki.

Afridi now says Pakistani players should be selected for ipl.
Reasons:their pm has taken the invite from spineless MMS and came to Mohali and relation between countries are improving and they played in India for SF without any problem.

If I were to judge the man of the match I would have given to MSD for his captaincy and good stumpings though he fumbled once. What a thrilling match we say till the last ball. Good beginning to CSK.

I dont feel like supporting DC.
Their team is so soulless and the owners so classless.
Will have to move my choice to Mumbai for Sachin and Rayudu(Suman is also with Mumbai).
I hope Shivlal Yadav stays out of the way and let Hyderabad cricket survive.He has ruined HCA and its cricket team..by him controlling the board and getting his son to control team.Such a wonderful team going to Dogs and in plate league(Hyd Ranji team) isnt a good sign.
The quota system,I guess,will ensure that his son plays for Rest of India/Zonals/India A etc and be part of DC team.
He should learn how Krish Srikanth and Anirudha pair are doing

Some or how, after retirement cricketers bring their kid to the national spot light.
Film stars do the same thing. We cry foul when politicians try to do the same thing for their kids..

Very true. Doctors kids will become doctors and marry doctors only. Engineers and sports person does the same. When politicians does this it becomes a big issue, especially in TN. Any particular reason for that?

I don't see any problem with him asking IPL to include Pak players. What's wrong in that?

"I am not saying I want to play the IPL but it could be a great platform for youngsters. They could make a mark for themselves," Afridi said.

I completely agree with the above statement. I strongly believe that India became so strong in batting because of IPL. The result of this world cup is the direct impact of IPL. So i think any captain would like to see their youngster take part in such a contests to get real exposure and also make some money.

He is not begging but showing genuine interest. This is how i see it. So what should he feel ashamed of???
