Greeks and what they can do

This evening I watched a greek protestor who claimed to be an Economist say on BBC news that their debts are not repayable....they should forget about it (default like Argentina) and move on.
On the same story, the parliament had decided to sell off some government assets ( like the lucrative ferry lines, terminals etc..that take tourists to all the islands ) and reduce several government services and programs.
I wondered why the greeks cannot sell off some of the islands to the rich countries, get the money and pay off the loans. After all, the germans and the scandinavians are the tourists; and the bond holders for the greek debts. It will be like the sale of Louisiana or Alasaka from government to government in the very old days.

If not selling to other countries.. they should consider selling to the Indian Baba's.. like Ramdev. He can expand and add a few more islands to his AAP. :) SSB trust can buy a few with pocket change and only if Rajneesh was alive.. he could have turned a few of those islands into paradise. What a location for Chopraji to run his $1975 "seduction of sprit' shows out there. More money (from tourism) for the Greeks.. They should seek advice on this forum. :)

moodys downgraded portugal to something just above junk bonds.

so portugal, ireland, greece and spain can get together and have a little PIGS party. :)

funny that !! Suckling Pigs are famous in Salamanca and especially in Segovia, Spain. So the others have to gather in Spain....makes sense to go to a central location.
And the bond ratings will be back up when PIGS fly ?
They could form a lower level PIGS zone and could devalue their currency.

The land is the ONLY possession worth fighting for, specially for a country.
It does not matter how much the debt is, a country should NOT sell it's land.
Just look west bank and Gaza strip. In it's fundamental ,raw and violent form , land ownership by a group/country is the struggle for the right to exist.

For some foreseeable future
1) The number of people in world will increase.
2) The total "wealth" calculated by various monetary instrument will increase

but the land area will remain more or less same or there will be violent conflict to stake claims on the newly "acquired" land of Antarctica and arctics.

So no the Greeks should buckle up and work rather then sell an island.
