My husband wont allow me

Post by r2inoida »

Recently, I with another women friend of mine went for a late night show of dirty picture. We can back around 1 AM. Now this is not something unusual for me. I used to go for ladies night outs in US also. I have even taken foreign vacations with girlfriends.

Now yesterday when we were talking about this with another friend, her reaction was "my husband would never allow me". This girl is an engineer, mother of a child , works in IT.

It has got me thinking about what women think they are and Why even educated women refuse to grow up.

A lot depends on the neighborhood you are living, the neighborhood the theater is in, how you commute to and from the theater, like auto rickshaw, drive your own car, two wheeler and so on, what condition your vehicle is in, whether you have pepper spray in your hand bag, or chili powder in Indian style, do you have to walk a certain distance in a deserted area in the night to get to your transportation, how crowded is the theater, do you wear jewelry or not ….. and last but not least, is the movie really worth watching late night :)

Most husbands are concerned about safety of their wives as lot of different things are likely to happen in a city like Delhi and especially suburbs like Noida late night. Generally I would consider it safe for ladies to go out late at night to watch a movie as long as they have a car is good working condition, husbands who trust them, wear limited or no jewelry, a fully charged cell phone, are aware of places to avoid along their commute…..and really the movie should be worth watching :)

As far as the friend is concerned, may be she doesn't have one or more of the above.

Besides the mainstream discussion on "what women think they are and why even educated women refuse to grow up", was it some Mallu movie? :)

Did that lady say why her husband won't allow her? Is it specific to going out "late night" and the associated fear?

On a tangent, when y'all go out on a ladies night out, do you have a bet among yourself as to who will get the first call inquiring about well being, where abouts, when you will return, etc. from the husband? :) I always wondered, as I stare at the phone and then give up on the idea of calling my wife, who is on a ladies night out. :) (don't want my wife to lose on a bet!)

Being a grown up woman and being educated and independent or working does not have to mean that husband's preferences and wishes are totally dispensable!

A woman might know her husband well enough to be aware that he would not like it she went to watch such a movie in a theater with her girl-friends, at any time of the day or night. It might be because he doesn't like the idea of her watching such a movie in a theater along with many strangers, including men. If she is wise enough, she will excuse herself from outings to watch such movies with girl-friends without investigating it too deeply and without bringing up the topic with husband. And she could present it in a better way to her girlfriends.. something like, "My husband wouldn't like it, and I don't consider the movie worth putting my foot down and going anyway." This respecting certain wishes and preferences of spouse goes both ways, husband also respects such preferences of wife. On demand, I could oblige with a few examples of such wifely preferences or prescriptions for the husband. :)

For all we know, such "My husband won't allow me" kinds like it that the husband doesn't allow that, and while girlfriends are out in the cold night watching movie, she is warm at home with him, busy make their own moves and movies. :)

Over time, I've observed that many (not saying all) expressions of "My wife insists...", "My wife won't let...", "My husband never lets me...", "My wife makes the kids do..." are not complaints of being bossed over.. they are rather expressions of 'i so love this nature of my boss(ini)'. :)

Yeah. Vidya Balan is an insult to the memory of Silk Smitha. She doesn't even have an ounce of sex appeal that Silk had. What a travesty!

if you do....please start a thread.. say..."what I won't let my DX do.." . This would naturally be a trap for CoC violations...but then, what isn't ?

...I seem to sense this undertone in "he/she won't R2I with me...because..." refrains as well.

I really dont see much wrong with husband not allowing for late nite movie or nite out...every couple has different definitions of personal space...and many don't even have a definition. If both parties agree with the definitions and are happy, good for them..also did she say what restrictions she has on husband?
