We are planning to move to India in 2013.
We have 2 kids, 6 and 3 year old.
I'm looking for schools and I noticed that R2Is are talking about international schools.
I'm not sure how these international schools are different from other traditional/regular
schools that we went to in our childhood back in Hyderabad.
Could you please explain the difference?
We are planning to move to Dilsukhnagar area and there are lot of traditional schools around there.
So would it be ok to choose one of traditional school near by DSNR?
My older kid will complete her First Grade here in US.
We are planning to move to HYD by the time school year 2013-2014 starts in Hyd.
I surely agree with you that these international school concept has become a good concept for business, collecting hell lot
of money from parents.
In international schools, would they teach Telugu? Is the new kid supposed to know to read and write bit of Telugu?
I would really appreciate help regarding this.
Thanks.

It all depends !!! There is no wrong thing or right thing.. We have decided to keep our kids in the bigger schools and most of our friends send thir kids to Chirec. So, we opted for Chirec. Is it good ? Well, it is not bad. It has its own pros and cons.

So far I am OK with the school. My older kid joined in the 5th grade and was forced to take Telugu. He did not know to write a letter till about 2 months ago. And now he is going after the 5th standard telugu. The teacher said it should take a few months for them to get to the same level. Also, the teachers usually give out good grades for these NRI kids so they don't feel left out...

All in all, it went well.

rsvictory;435273Washdc - Very useful.

I am shocked to see the prices. Man. International schools are indeed a rip off. We will be R2I ing to hyd before 2013 summer. I want to join the kids (9 and 6) in regular schools only. Not international. Recently I came across some Waldorf Schools Prerna, Diksha and Shloka. I heard that the curriculum at these schools is pretty good. Not sure how the admission process etc is.

Let me know if you have any info about other schools near Hitech(10 km radius)

Thanks for your time...

We are also planning to R2I before 2016 Summer. Can you please let me know which school you selected. I am also more inclined towards Waldorf schools. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you
