Hi,
I recently relocated to Noida from SF bay area. I was wondering if there are other people who have R2I'd in Noida.
Would love to meet other interested folks to make a few friends around here.

Hi there...
Sorry for hijacking your thread, but I am writing in to request your kind assistance. Since you have just moved to Noida, I wanted to ask for a little bit of help, in terms of understanding your experience of the move. We're moving to Noida too in the next couple of months, and as you can well imagine, there are just too many questions and few answers...
Would be grateful for any advice that you can impart.
Did you have to look for an apartment in Noida (if you are renting that is)? If so, how did you go about it? Do you have any recommendations for agents/builders or any advice on which gated developments might be a good option - we're looking at Sector 50 currently. Our work places are in SEZ and Sec-61 so Sec-50 would be ideal I've been told. Do you have an opinion?
Have you been able to find household help in Noida yet and if so.. HOW? I am super stressed about finding help, especially because we have a 2-month old baby.
Did you have to set-up home from scratch.. like buy furniture, appliances etc as well? Would you mind sharing your experience and if you have any suggestion on how to go about doing this.. where to buy it from?
Thank you in advance and apologies if this has upset you in any way. And it will be nice to get in touch when we are in Noida eventually... hope you won't mind.
Cheers

Sorry man, but My folks live in Noida itself and I am still single so I kinda of side-stepped all these issues involved in the move. FYI, Sector-50 is really nice. You should seriously consider it.

Ahhh... like that!! Good for you... sorry for the barrage of questions! However, since your parents live there... would it be too much trouble getting some advice from them, only if you don't mind?
And thanks for the commendation on Sec-50. That's very helpful indeed :)

Hi Avedakedavra,
I recently moved to Noida from the States so I can answer some of your questions for you. I am working for a media company in sector 2 so I wanted to find a place to live nearby to avoid traffic etc, so I ended up renting an apartment in sector 25, which is also one of the nicer sectors to be living in (apart from also being the sector Arushi Talwar got murdered in). I ended up returning to India just ten days before my job started and so i didn't really have very much time to look around. I contacted a bunch of brokers and as luck would have it, I was successful in finding a nice apartment after just looking at 4-5 places.
From my experience- there is no dearth of apartment to rent in Noida especially if you are looking for a nicer apartment and are willing to pay above 20k a month for rent. My own place came with a fridge, an air conditioner, beds, washing machine and sofa's, and the landlord also agreed to provide a tv and a microwave (yet to do so, but she's promised) and i am paying 24k a month for a 2bhk on the ground floor with a small garden and a lot of indoor space.
We also had no problem finding household help. We just asked our landlord and neighbors and the same women who work for them found time to work for us as well. We have a cook who prepares a meal for us everyday (the standard going rate is 1k a month for a meal for two people). She also does the dishes for 500 Rs (we only eat dinner at home) and then we have another lady who does the cleaning in the morning for 500 Rs as well.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Thank you for the info ssing, its been very helpful. We've finally ended up taking an apt in Sec-50.
Do you know where I can get certified pre-owned cars in Noida ? I know Maruti run TruValue, and there's Mahindra First Choice, but any other reliable dealers that you know of ?

Mahindra first choice is pretty good! Apart from these, you have Noida car bazar (close to atta market only) which too have a sizeable collection of cars. Hope you are adjusting well in Noida.
