Hi Kala...nice article. We too are returning to Blore in 2013. We are mostly convinced about DPS after hearing from couple of parents who are sending kids to that school. Hoping my kids can get into DPS sarjapur. Few initially opted for Primus, Greenwood but later they moved Kids to DPS. What they have told is, these are very good schools for easy transition for kids but go easy on academics and too much focus on other activities. So, it depends on what you are looking for in a school.

Hi Srini,

All the best on the school admissions.All the admissions forms have the salary and address info and I believe they will be starting issuing the admissions forms in the month of Sept/oct so what info should we provide as we are still in US.Kindly help me with this if you know abt it.

We are also returning to Bangalore in 2013 with 4th & 2nd graders. Any thoughts around choosing CBSE vs ICSE and 2nd/3rd languages ? Sounds like NPS/DPS admission might be difficult, so trying to see what are the other set of options including GEAR. Also to make it relatively easy, we are ready to go with not so famous schools during the transition year and move to NPS/DPS type of schools the following year. Thank you, Dev

You could also try http://www.thesamhitaacademy.com/ we returned in 2010 with my kids in 4th and 1st grades. Both my kids are quite happy with this school and I have never seen them showing any disinterest even a single day when going to or coming back from school. Not too much pressure on Academics, quite well balanced with many activities.

Kala - my DH is visiting India during that time and he will be checking with schools in person. Regarding the address, my sister lives in that area and I will initially stay with her, so will give their address. About salary, I am not sure. But if needed we will give our current income details or just my DH's. Haven't really thought yet.
I was interested in NPS, Samhitha as well but per my sister, getting in NPS PP classes is easy and but after that, there will be little or no vacancy in higher grades (my kids will go to 3rd and 2nd grade). Samhitha is bit far from where we will stay, but we still have it in our radar.
After my DH's visit, I will have more details and will share them.

Hi Dev522,

My first option is to go for ICSE because I have heard Hindi is little bit difficult for CBSE compared to ICSE .The third language comes into picture starting 5th grade so I guess you should be fine there.Based on my research I read that English language is not covered as elobarately in CBSE as compared to ICSE.It also depends on the schools you choose I believe.One thing about the schools like DPS is there may be atleast 40-60 kids in a class whereas in schools like sishu griha or Samhitha the no of kids in each class is really low.like for instance in Sishu griha they said it is 30.

I just checked the admission procedures in Sishu griha if any one is interested.

They mentioned that you just need to submit a self written application form along with passport size photo,conduct certificate/transfer certificate from previous school and birth certificate.The details are there in the website under FAQ section.The forms has to be submitted in the month of December.The only thing I need to find out is about attesting the grade sheets and transfer certificates.I found a link in r2i see below.

Samhitha will start their admission process in the month of September.Looks like Samhita is flexible about the admission tests if needed they can do it through SKYPE.
Kumarans -No seats for 2-10 but if available they will announce it in their website in February.
