9 yr old son eligible for 4 th grade 2013-14,books suggestions for entrance

Hi ,
I am r2i in dec first week and my 9 yr old son will be home with my till June academic sessions.
so suggestions from parents how to home school him and how to prepare for the entrance test which are going to be mainly in April .I am planning on hindhi tuitions.
Basically was wondering how to keep a 9 yr old engaged for almost 6 months at home!!
I won't be able to admit him in dec in any reputed schools,so I thought of keeping hi home and do some homeschooling.
My son Is presently studying in 4 th grade but according to indian age criteria he is eligible for 4 th grade next yr,so he won't b losing an academic year.

Heyy.. I have 2 boys 11 and 9 year old and planning to move may be next year as DH is looking for a job. I wanted to do the same thing like move in sep or oct and have them home schooled till next school year in india. I think talking to the local ppl might give you a proper feedback about tuition and books. Let me know how did it go? wish you good luck. I have heard from a lot of friend and also in this forum that upto 4th grade, kids have no problem in adjusting. I am gonna be having a possibly 8th grader by the time i will move :) but i am still hopeful as my son said," mom, i m hard worker .. i will be able to do it .. don't worry." So, can't me more assured .. right ? :) good luck!! keep writing your experiences ..
