Happy Diwali 2012..
Happy Diwali 2012..
I generally buy, many/much Indian Groceries ( Corns / coffee / spices / Khakhara / Meggi / Parle G .. etc ) on this time of Diwali sale for almost the whole year from the Local Indian Stores,
but this time due to Sandy, many have cancelled their sales,
due to the stuff did not arrive in-time.
Those who are living in US/UK, the best bet is,..
during Diwali time, ( on sale, at Indian stores )
buy this Dabba of Amul Ghee, and lowest if you can get at $ 13.50, ( 1 Liter size / 905 gms ) buy it,...
it's worth of any labor, good qlty, price and perfection. - sealed by Amul.
You can even surf on net and buy on-line
by adding the s/h costs and see if beating price is coming up.
Here, I see a beating price of 2 liter can for 23.94 which includes s and h ( let me know your opinions )
http://shop.khanapakana.com/amul-pure-ghee-2-litre-1-810-kg-nett/ ( 2 Liter ) - It's 19.99 for 2 Litres, ( Woooow ! ) though I am ( thinking of ) trying to buy some more of 75 USD
and hence to avoid full s/h, as they say ( Though, it depends on weight factor too ) .
Compare prices here.

Ask your area's Indian stores and write this down.
1 Liter ( 905 g ) should be around 13.50 dollars, a reasonable price, if found below it, buy many. ( I am tracking this price for few years )
If you are paying above 13.50 USD, ( 1 Liter ) you are paying more.
I am tracking this for years,.. ......and you should not confuse by look,...... b/c the same looking tin-cans come in diff. sizes. ( Chk for 1 litre size for 13.50 or less USD )

Rbee new Avatar for diwali?
Wish Happy Deepawali To All .
Jani bhai,
What will you do with so much of ghee? They are not good for health. Here Indian groceries already keep very old stock and during Diwali, they clear the "older" stocks.
We make fresh Ghee at home from unsalted butter.

Happy Diwali 2012..
Just came back from TN (Hosur) after fireworks shopping. Blew up Rs 3500 and in Hosur prices are lower. Most of the shops sell at 80% discount. The MRP printed on the box is a scam. Then enjoyed Tamil style Sambar at Saravana Bhawan. It is a shame Sunnyvale has SVB but not Bangalore.
Happy Diwali to All!

???
Ghee is needed the year round, on Roti, Sabjii, Pitas, Sheera, Vegetables, Bhaaji-Paanv, in milk with honey and haldi ( very often due to cold and cough ) and where not !
I am living alone,... and my own only average use is 4-5 such 1 liter cans, besides the use of oil at frying and all other places.
Amul is top of the line. So, nothing to doubt here.
Shoprite butter's 1 lb costs USD 2.49, and you buy
say 5 such packs ( each contains four mini bars ) , and you make Ghee take away the foam/impurities and liquids,
funnel/screen it and finally in quantity, you will come up with almost the same.
Why not avoid the headache, buying at Indian price ( paying per indian style of their preparation cost there ) and more to it, name is Amul - factory sealed ( SONY TV )
Also remember, nobody will tell you this, but for vegetarians and especially the secret of longer life and
hands and legs working quite good and with efficiency, eye-shinings in-tact and such
is only if you paid frictional ( Snigdha ) material thro' out from the very beginning to bones and such, regularly and from the very beginning and it will pay off later.
You need to feed the body regularly and from the very beginning, systematicaly and daily
in its right proportion to get the credits , when it will be needing the most.
I hereby, just posted the home-made Ghee techs too. ( They all have all comments about preserving, making, cautions and all such )

P_Jani;479162Jani, Don't worry about saving a few bucks on ghee, go and spend some money on cholesterol checks regularly every year.

Chakraan, ghee is saturated fat and does not go rancid easily so freshness is not that material unless one is keeping it for years. Ghee can easily last a few years without going rancid and especially in a fridge.
Happy Diwali 2012..
To cut the ‘off-topic’ in short, in my family’s genes and genetic history
no such things I have seen so far of,…. like, … Large tummy, enlarged pot like beer swollen belies, Diabetes, high BP, Low BP, heart attacks, Sugar ( Dia. ), Chole. and many such heredity felony ever.
And the secret is,
No beer, smoke, tobacco, tea very limited, and eating sudhdha(pure) Ghee’s items without any fear, regularly, and not exceeding its proportion either
but still feeding the body all the way, from the very beginning.
Since I was a kid, I have seen my mamma, buying 3-4 liters of Ghee every other month regularly, just like you buy milk daily.
Be it for Sheera, Laavshi / Laapsi, Raab, Soonth-mix, Ghooghara, Diwali sweets, Carrot and other Halwaas,
My uncles, bro, father or me never ever needed to go for checking sugar, pressure or any such heart related attacks or such,… no heredity genes,.. Knock on wood. :)
BTW,....Nice vdo by OS2
Well,
here is one other very similar,.. when it’s Diwali time,.. and when a Brazilian Beauty ( Giselle – actress of Love aaj kal ) teaches us such of our culture,
it’s quite natural to envy for her ;)
Hope we can date her, for her to teach us more !
