Want to move back to Darjeeling

I am not from Darjeeling but since I have traveled many times I will give my
opinion.

Darjeeling is very congested now a days so I think it is not a good place to settle.

Gangtok is a much better choice in terms of quality of life and infra. Also Gangtok
has potential to develop significantly over next 5-10 years. Shillong can also be
a good choice in coming years.

IT Jobs most likely is not there in Darjeeling. Some small roles may be there in Siliguri
(but this is purely my guess work).

I can understand why you want to settle in Darjeeling.

I myself would like to go and spend at least 6 month every year in Sikkim/Meghalaya/Bhutan.

The best option for you would be to save enough money to retire/semi retire and enjoy the Himalayas
(you can start your own IT firm/training institute/organic farming or tourism related business).

If you really want to enjoy a dream life explore option of settling in Bhumthang or Ponakha(Pobjika
Valley) in Bhutan(it may be very difficult to get long term visa in Bhutan but if you manage it
you can expect a near perfect life).

good luck and all the best.
