Well, it's a Friday and a nice 70F day in NY.
A little light on my workload today.
So, I'm planning my vacation for December.
We were planning for a cruise but I'm not all for it as I'm sea sick. But, I want to go somewhere warm. Any ideas/suggestion?
Looking for a 7 day trip. What's your ideal vacation spot with family?

I had lot of fun during Xmas and new year weekend in southern California with Monterey Bay as the center of stay.
Hyatt on the golf course was available for less than $75/night. Very nice place with couple of restaurants on site.

Other than FL, in contiguous US, only CA and TX offer possibilities of outdoor activities in December. But not much sight seeing in TX that can last 7 days. That leaves only FL and CA. Come to CA. You can meet your buddy Dixit finally face to face and settle once for all on size issues ; ) as we will be witnesses : ).

If never been to Hawaii I would highly recommend it. We’ve covered all islands in 3 separate trips. High point among many was snorkeling in Captain Cook’s Bay(kealakekua bay) in Big Island.

We explored South America and finally decided on family re-union in Austin. Planning big bend and Padre Island for vacation and a visit to Houston to visit cousin. I am guessing this will take care of 7 days vac in Texas.

Well, my brother lives in Austin and I'm planning to go over there and spend some time. But, that is after my family vacation.

PeterGriffin;664585So, I'm planning my vacation for December.
Go to Costa Rica. It is a nice and safe country.
There are 2 options - either the Pacific coast (you can see the tiny Capuchins) or the mountains. There are some dormant volcanoes. The birds are beyond amazing. The rain forests are a lifetime experience. The weather is pleasant. The flight time is tolerable. The cost is not exorbitant (unless you opt for luxury resorts). Kids would love it. Takes the mind away from urban life.
...and it is not same old place, somewhere in America!

We explored Costa Rica for the Christmas break. It was cheaper to go to Milan. Simply because of the holiday season. Yes, it is definitely not exorbitant, if we time it well. Unfortunately, with the younger one in college, we have to look into his vacation time. Maybe next spring break should be good for us because, the spring break dates are different for different schools.
