Bishop apologises to Ariana Grande for conduct at Aretha Franklin's funeral

?It would never be my intention to touch any woman?s breast ... I don?t know, I guess I put my arm around her. Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar but, again, I apologise.? - Bishop

If you watch the video, it was quite obvious. How can one not know that you are touching a sensitive part of a woman? Could transient global amnesia be an excuse? Sick!!

Too friendly - And what sort of apology is that?

On a related note, I don't wish to comment on the different cultures and their accoutrements goes with different things. However, viewing just from a baseline decency and appropriateness, this sort of dressing (by Ariana) is ok?

If you watch the whole show held in Detroit, it wasn't just Clinton dozing, I noticed a couple other people dozing also - comes with age. When people get over 70, some get slower than others and Bill's voice has changed reflecting his health.

Further, when I watched Jesse Jackson, it took him like 4 to 5 tries before he could stand up from his sitting position. That said, pictures can be snapped, it is only when one watches the full video, you get a better understanding.

That said, this thread wasn't about politics more so about the pastor. I watched most of the show as it was being broadcast live.

Understanding? Now who needs that in the world of 3AM tweets?

Right! That?s what I thought, but couldn?t resist the riposte!
Now that pastor, I saw the video, not entirely it?s surely it had a malicious intent esp when he was referring to something about what his daughter said, but was gracious enough to apologize! And any talk of the touch or comments by other singers on dress is only going to take away from what should be their main focus - Aretha!

Obviously, that is the valid point people would say - focus on Aretha and not anything else. However, it doesn't mean such obnoxious behaviour can be overlooked in a funeral.

Seriously, after watching the video - how can one not realize that he was touching in that area? What the heck! why should he even touch her in the first place? He could have put hand on the shoulder instead. How many dads would be ok if some stranger talks about his daughter and man-handles the daughter? Strange logic to make wrong things right.

Whether it is malicious or not, apologized or not, - it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

If Aretha is what we need to focus, then - Similarly, in McCain's funeral - rather than focussing on McCain, why did his daughter focus on Trump? All that dramatic speech - couldn't stand. One min it looked like she was about to well up (but didn't) and then put up a stern face saying "America was always right".

I think you are joking. Right? :))

c'mon....physics sounds logical but not bullet proof enough.

I don't think anybody would be that unwise to do such things intently in a public place with many watchful cameras and eyes. So, benefit of doubt goes in his favor.

Maybe he had innocent intentions, however my question is how can one not know that they are touching that area? His hands weren't quiet either.

Look at Desi's video link. Just horrendous!!!

One of the exalted and pragmatic feature of western culture is 'physical space'. People do respect physical space; unlike our culture, where we don't mind scooping other's kids, pinching the cheeks etc.

I am surprised there was an abundant plundering of freedom by the bishop.

If all chose to be like Vigano and speak about this several years later, moral decay will continue. Most likely, Ariana will be coaxed up for an allaying statement otherwise she will antagonize many right off the bat.
