Maybe, but Trump's approval rating has always been well below his economic approval rating. The article I linked to cites some evidence in that regard. It may also boil down to the economy in specific key states like WI and PA.

Economic perception is not always the same as economic reality. And yes, that holds for both sides of the political spectrum.
