Goa Trip

Post by yooper »

I am planning a family trip to Goa in May. Can you suggest some decent places, hotels/resorts not necessarily economical but certainly not in astronomical cost. Also, let me know sights and locations that should not be missed. Any direction to good internet resources would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Goa Trip

Post by venkat. »

Hi,

I had been to goa on dec'2009 and here are few details on goa:

Goa has lot of beaches in North goa, south goa and panjim.
Panjim is middle between north goa and south goa.

North goa - Lots of beaches , pubs etc.. but preferred for bachelors & group tourists to stay in north goa.
Beaches:Anjuma,Calangute,Sinquarim&dolphin beach,Vagator and baga beaches. All are beautiful beaches.
Hotels: Dont know much about hotels in north goa.

Panjim - Has historical church, boat cruise and some old & historical churches.
Preffered for families as well as groups...
Hotels:Prefer GINGER hotels by TATA and lots of other good hotels based on ur budget

South goa - Lots of beaches with less crowd and advisable for families to stay.(BTW i stayed in south goa)
- Beaches:Benaulim,Colva,Mobor beaches are less crowd.
- Hotels: Mahindra resort, leela, taj and many good hotels and some reasonable hotel/resort in benaulim.

Also, check in hotels(Recommended) by makemytrip in their site.

In Goa,you can get a 4 wheeler for hire on dialy basis. Prefer to take the 4 wheeler for hire in goa and explore.
Try to have lunch/dinner in Shacks in mobor beach as its too good.
Dont forget to visit Doodhsagar.

Hope this helps
