Hi,
I am planning to return by May 2010. I have a couple of offers, one is in Hyderabad (my current company in US) and the other is in Bangalore (other equally reputed company). Pay wise, the company in Hyd is paying a little bit more. One advantage there is that it is the same company I have been working with for a long time, so I will adjust sooner in that company in Hyd.
But, Bangalore might have some advantages in terms of city, possibility to pursue a part time MBA, Bay area like culture (in terms of future possibilities), etc.
Both Hyd and Bangalore are not my native cities.
So, my dilemma is, what should I choose? Please let me know if you have any insights.

Hyderabad v/s Bangalore: Help me decide
Hi Harshad, Is there wife and kids involved in this consideration? Based on just the factors you mentioned Hyderabad may be a better deal.
Also can you give some details about your background and offers you got. I am considering a move this summer and this would be a good data point to evaluate offers.

My wife and 4 year old daughter are also involved. My wife is a CPA, and she will be looking for jobs as well. Just looking up this thread, someone mentioned that Bangalore might have more accounting type jobs? PM me and we can discuss about the offers etc.

Hyderabad v/s Bangalore: Help me decide
Harshad,
I am not sure about Bangalore , but there are tons of jobs for Accounting in Hyderabad. i know this because my brother is a CA. You said your wife is CPA then i am sure Deloitte has something to offer her.
Good luck.

Hyderabad v/s Bangalore: Help me decide
The only difference between bangalore and hyd is the weather.. HYD is hot.. very hot in summer.. Bangalore has it's own set of asthma issues for many people.
If you are new to both BLR and HYD, then it makes no difference. I would choose to transfer within the same organization. One less worry during the stress of r2i. If you don't like HYD, you can always move to BLR in a year.
Another factor would be any friends/family in the city. At least the work environment would be familiar.. My 2 cents.
