Best way to access to money in the initial weeks of R21?

Best way to access to money in the initial weeks of R21?

What would be the best method of having access to money during the first few weeks after R2I?
I would need access to large chunk of money for deposit for the apt (which I assume only cash/cheque is accepted).
ATMs wont disburse more than a small amount/day and credit cards are not an option for some transactions.
I dont have an account in Bangalore (where I would be landing), are there ways to link my BofAmerica here and BofAmerica there and be able to withdraw? I am thinking I would need a sum of 5-10L in the first couple of weeks.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can always take travelers checks from the US and cash them in India pretty easily. You can use them as an interim step until your new bank account in India is ready for transactions.
