Non receipt of GC for dependent applicant

Post by delhiramanathan »

My friend's son who is in EB2 employment based GC category with PD March 2007 got his card about 10 days ago.Unfortunately his wife who is a dependent did not get her card along with him.
My friend is worried a bit as he is planning to perform House Warming Ceremony in Chennai during 2nd week of Nov 2011. He will be very happy that his son, daughter-in-law and grand son are present on that occasion.
If experts in this forum can throw some light on how to approach USCIS to speed up the issuance of the card, I will be thankful to them.
He has not applied for AP.
Thanks.

This information is for those 119 viewers who viewed the above post but could not answer.
After the completion of 60 days of the announcement of PD being current, an infopass appointment was taken. The case is now sent to an adjudicator and from the date of receipt of the case he/she takes from day one to 120 days to adjudicate and send a reply or GC.

My friend has reported that USCIS has sent an e-mail to his son stating that production of the card for his wife is ordered and will be sent within a month's time.

[QUOTE]USCIS has sent an e-mail ...
This is now the norm ? Sending e-mail ? I thought USCIS sent only letters, and took their sweet time about it. This new technology use is nice.
