New GC application after R2I

Hi All,

I will be doing R2I this december on GC (1.5 years complete), i am planning t take REP and if everythig works out will surrender the GC. Now the question is can i apply for a new family based GC after the current employment GC is surredered? My elder sister is a US citizen so i guess she can do that.. The idea is when the kids are @college age if we get the GC we can come back with them and claim SSN etc :)

Thoughts?

Are you talking about getting social security payment or something else? SS payments are made irrespective of your residency status when if you have made contributions for 40 quarters.

I did not know that.. in any case.. is that allowed to apply a new family based GC?
